Safeguarding Policy

Methodist Church

Following some relaxation with the lockdown rules linked to the Coronavirus we are beginning to prepare our premises for future use. This will take some time and  will be ongoing as we join for worship, prayer and fellowship. We will give full details of dates etc on this website as soon as possible, and also a poster will be exhibited in the external church notice board.

In the meantime you can follow our services on
and click on the picture of our church.

We hope to be with you all again quite soon - do keep safe and well. (BPT June 2020)

Christchurch is part of the Hastings, Bexhill and Rye Circuit of the Methodist Church.
As Methodists we try to reflect in our lives the love that God wishes to share with all people.
In worship, we give thanks to God who loves us and has set us in this world of possibilities.
We give thanks for one another.
We pray that God will continue to sustain and enable everyone to live fulfilled lives.

Our Worship

Sunday Morning Worship at 10.30 am is led by a variety of ministers and local preachers from week to week.
Holy Communion is celebrated regularly and is open to ‘all who love the Lord’.

After morning worship we continue to share fellowship with a cup of tea or coffee in the church hall.

Sunday Evenings at 6.00 pm – We meet for worship on the fourth Sunday evening each month and on other Sundays we join in worship with other local Methodist Churches.

Our congregation will be delighted to make you welcome when you come to any of the services.  Further details are in the Circuit Plan available in the church or visit www.hbrmethcircuit.org.uk

We aren’t just here for church members but also for the wider community and their families. Our minister and pastoral visitors will gladly call at your home in times of need.

  • Weddings The church is registered for the solemnisation of weddings, including those of people whose previous marriage may have been dissolved.
  • Baptisms are recognised by all Christian Churches. You do not have to be a member of this church in order to have your child baptised.
  • Funeral and thanksgiving services are held at the church or crematorium by arrangement with the minister.

Please contact the minister to discuss arrangements for weddings, baptisms and funerals.

Access Information

The premises have been adapted to provide a ramp access and wheelchair accessible toilet and a hearing loop system.  Hymn books, Bibles and Service Books are available in large print.

The ‘Messenger’ our church magazine with news and information is printed monthly. Please read the latest Minister's Message.

Christchurch has a varied programme of activities to suit all tastes and ages. In addition to our regular activities, we also hold special events, such as our renowned annual Festival of Flowers and we also take an active part in community events, like the Bexhill Carnival.
