Messy Church is held once in each of the school holidays, ie six times a year. We meet in the main hall at the church on a Thursday morning from 10am until 12.30. In that time we have about 1¼ hours of activities and crafts on the topic of the day, followed by a celebration time in which we talk about the topic, sing a few songs and thank God for our time together. We then share in lunch. All family members are very welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or carer. There is no charge. Please contact Jill 01424 214451 for more details.
A very successful Messy church session was held in the small hall at the church on Thursday, February 20th, 2020, when a lovely group of familiar and new faces joined us for a session on the subject of Things That Fly. We made woollen pompom bees, paper aeroplanes, very messy marbled shaving cream dragonflies, and butterfly prayers. After the craft session we discussed how vital bees are to us, and the variety of birds that we can see. We sang All Things Bright and Beautiful and Our God is a Great Big God. We looked at the prayers on our butterfly prayer sheet. We finished the morning with lunch connected with our topic, egg, and chicken paste sandwiches with carrot sticks and tomatoes. Our desserts were honey sandwiches, small cakes and grapes. At the moment we do not know when we will be able to meet again but wish you all the very best in these difficult times and will be in contact as soon as we are able. Jill
